We Are Edwards, Inc.

Edwards, Inc. is a full-service industrial general contractor providing construction, fabrication, and crane services. We serve a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, food processing, wood and paper products, textiles, general manufacturing, agriculture, and nuclear power generation throughout North America.

License and Certifications

We hold an unlimited, unclassified general contractors license, along with mechanical and electrical trade licenses in multiple states. We are an AISC Certified fabricator for building steel, bridge component steel, and sophisticated paint. With ASME A, S, U and PP stamps, and a National Board R stamp, we are experienced in the construction, fabrication, and repair of boilers, power piping, and pressure vessels. All of our crane operators and lift directors are NCCCO trained and certified.

A Culture of Safety

Edwards, Inc. fosters a culture of safety based upon hazard awareness, evaluation, communication and safe project execution. We go to great lengths to ensure that everyone is properly trained and compliant with all of the diverse safety requirements of each industry we serve.

We maintain a full-time safety / risk management team that is constantly trained and involved with industry groups and organizations. Our safety / risk management team takes a proactive approach to personal and corporate safety, on and off the job. They are responsible for:

Workforce training and SAP program facilitation
Developing safe work plans / project planning
Ensure industry and company policy compliance
Regular inspections (customer required, or not)
Re-Training / Re-Education / Continuous improvement

A Look Back at our History

Edwards Welding & Maintenance started business

Derrill Edwards started with a pickup truck, portable welder, hand tools and an "I Can" attitude.

1979

Acquired Our First Crane

Our crane fleet started with the purchase of the company's first Crane, a 35 ton Grove.

1983

First Fab Shop Established

Edwards, Inc. is now ASME Stamps: A,S, U, PP, R qualified.

1985

Major Project Milestone

Edwards, Inc. completes their first project valued over $1M.

1990

Edwards/Greenville

Edwards, Inc. expands in Eastern NC with the addition of Edwards/Greenville, Inc.

1992

Painting and Coating Facility Opens

Painting and Coating is added to expand our fabrication service offering.

1994

Edwards/Wilmington

Edwards, Inc. continues to expand in Eastern NC with the addition of Edwards/Wilmington, Inc.

1995

Crane Fleet Continues to Grow

Edwards, Inc. expands our crane fleet with the purchase of a Liebherr 500 Ton Crane.

1996

Fabrication Shop Expansion

We expanded our fabrication capability with the addition of a 1750 ton press, punch plasma, and laser.

1998

Fabrication Shop Continues to Expand

We extend our fabrication line with the addition of a Voortman Beamline and Angle Line.

2003

Crane Fleet Grows Again

TEREX DEMAG: AC500-2 SSL 600 ton crane purchased

2009

Major Project Milestone

Edwards, Inc. completes our largest construction contract to-date with a value of $11M.

2010

Fab Shop Expansion

ALLtra Hi-definition plasma machine commissioned into service at our Spring Hope location.

2011

Pipe Fabrication Shop Opens

Pipe fabrication automated cutting and welding Facility opened in Spring Hope, NC.

2012

Fabrication Business Continue to Expand

6000W laser cutting center commissioned and Edwards, Inc. continues to expand our fabrication capabilities.

2015

Industrial Coatings Expansion

Edwards, Inc. now offers flexible intumescent epoxy fireproofing as a PITT-CHAR certified applicator.

2016

Fab Shop Expansion

Voortman V808 robotic plasma beam coping machine for coping structural steel is added to our fabrication shop.
